Alpha conducted Continuing Medical Education - Palliative Nursing Care




Alpha Pain Clinic conducted Continuing Medical Education on the theme 'Palliative Nursing Care' at Regional Theatre, Thrissur on 15th November 2011.

Dist. Collector Shri P.M. Francis IAS inaugurated the function. Music Drama Academy Secretary Prof. P.V.Krishnan Nair, Alpha Pain Clinic Chairman Shri K.M. Noordeen, Ex Mayor K. Radhakishnan also attended the function.

The session including Palliative Nursing Care and Cancer Pain were guided by Severn Hospice Medical Director Dr. Jeremy Johnson, England and V.P.Gangadharan, Oncologist respectively.

Ms. Penny Johnson, Ms Maureen Lamb, Nursing Manager Severn Hospice, England; Ms. Iris Briscoe, Social Worker; Ms. Susie Sutclifee, Diversional Therapist; Ms Tracy Burns, Ms Lucy Baker and Ms. Penny Edwards also presented their topic.

Including nursing faculty and students, about 750 people attended the function. Alpha Pain Clinic Medical Division Head, Dr. P.Jayarajan presnted the welcome address and Alpha Pain Clinic Medical Officer Dr. Anandam Gopinathan conveyed Vote of thanks.

Alpha Thrissur Center inaugurated officialy on 15th Nov 2011




Alpha Pain Clinic Thrissur Centre was inaugrated officially by Shri. Innocent, AMMA President, Cine Artist and Alpha Pain Clinic Patron at Regional Theatre, Thrissur on 15th November 2011.

The inaugural function was conducted along with the Continuing Medical Education, conducted by Alpha.
Shri. Innocent on his inaugural speech gave stress for ensuring happiness, peace and freedom to whole society. He also expressed his concern about the issues going on in the malayalam film industry.


Alpha celebrated World Hospice & Palliative Care Day on Oct 13, 2011




More than 1000's of students celebrated 'World Hospice & Palliative Care Day' here in Thrissur on Oct 13,2011. A walkathon was conducted by Calicut University National Service Scheme and Alpha Pain Clinic which was attended by about 3000 people. Walkathon was followed by a seminar,'Students for Palliative Care' at town hall.

Walkathon was started at 9.30am from Thekkegopuranada and was flagged off by the University Vice Chancellor Prof. Raveenthranath. Manappuram Group Chairman Shri. V.P.Nandakumar handed over the torch to NSS Dist Coordinator Prof. K.N.Ramesh. Seminar was inaugurated by the Agricultural University Vice Chancellor Dr. K.R.Vishwambaran. District Panchayath President Shri. K.V. Dasan, Corporation Counsellors Saramma Robson, Prof. Annam John, Alpha Pain Clinic Chairman Shri. K.M. Noordeen, Patrons Shri V.P.Nandakumar, Prof P.C.Thomas, Shri T.A. Sunder Menon, Director Dr. K.K.Mohandas, Ex Mayor Shri.K. Radhakrishnan also attended.

City Police Commissioner, Shri. P.Vijayan IPS, Alpha Pain Clinic Chairman Shri K.M.Noordeen also joined the seminar. Prof A.B.Abbas, Dr. Latha Raj, M. Ramakrishnan Nair also attended the discussion held, followed by the seminar.

Alpha conducted Community Wedding on Sept 04, 2011




The Alpha Pain Clinic Community wedding program gave new life to 9 girls. Many kind hearted and socially conscious individuals and organizations respecting corporate social responsibility have come forward to share the financial side of the wedding. Along with the nine main sponsors, hundreds came for the wedding to bless the bride and the groom with gifts which include money, saree etc.

Brides were gifted with 40gms of gold jewellary and Rs. 50,000. The wedding event which took place along with Alpha Charitable Trust anniversary on September 4th, 2011 became the talk of the town.

The Alpha charitable trust anniversary function was inaugurated by Hon. Min. Shri. C. N. Balakrishnan. MLA V.S. Sunil Kumar, Thomas Unniyadan, Ex. Min Shri K.P.Rajendran, Padmashree Peruvanam Kuttan Marar, Kerala Music-Drama Academy Secretary Prof. P.V.Krishnan Nair, Indian Association of Palliative care President Dr. Nagesh Sinha, Joy Alukkas Group CMD Shri Joy Alukkas, Manappuram Group CMD Shri V.P.Nanadakumar, Sun Group CMD Shri T A Sunder Menon, Dr. K.K. Mohandas, Alpha Palliative Council UAE President Shri Sajan Mathew were also attended. Alpha Pain Clinic Chairman Shri K.M.Noordeen presided over the function and PRO Suresh Shreedaran gave vote of thanks.
The function was followed by cultural programme conducted by Alpha Kalavedi.

Santhwana Sangamam - A Mega Get together for Pallaitive Care




Alpha Pain Clinic conducted a fund raising dinner programme on 11th June 2011 at Lulu Convention Center, Thrissur, which was inaugrated by the Alpha Pain Clinic Patron and 'AMMA' President, Mr. Innocent Cine Artist.
Cine Artists Mr. Mammootty, Mr. Dileep, Mr. Biju Menon, Chenda Artist Peruvanam Kuttan Marar, Collector Mr. P.G.Thomas, Mr. Sebastian Paul, Manappuram Group Chairman Mr.V.P.Nandakumar, Kalyan Silks MD Mr. Pattabhiraman, Mr. Joy Alukkas, Mr. T.A.Sunder Menon, Mr. V.A.Hassan, Dr. K.K.Mohandas, Mr.K.M. Noordeen, Mr.P.V.Krishnan Nair, Dr. Fazal Mohammed, Mr. Sajan Mathew, Mr. P.K.Kadermon were also attended.
Gallantry Award were presented to Shri. Rajan and Shri.Subramanian for their extra ordinary courage to overcome the obstacles imposed by their physical conditions. Veera Sringhala were awarded to Shrimathi. Ambujakshi and Shrimathi. Abida Umma for their selfless service to their children for more that a decade.
The function was ended with dinner followed.

Sandwana Samanuayam Community Funded Palliative Care



A new project with a view of increasing public participation was inaugrated by Mr. Joy Alukkas, Chariman Joy Alukkas Group at a function held on the 18th of December at asoka Inn Thrissur. the aim of the project is to enroll 20,000 subscribers from the public as Palliative Care supporters by a monthly subscription of Rs. 100. The project also has a premium membership of Rs. 1000 per month.
The function was attended by prominent Business Leaders from Thrissur such as Mr. V.P.Nanadakumar Chairman Manappuram Group, Mr. T.S.Kalyanaraman M.D. Kalyan Jewellers, Mr. V.A.Hassan Director Oberon Mall and Flora Hotels Cochin, Prof. P.C. Thomas an eminent educationist, Directors of Alpha Pain Clinic Dr. V.P.Gangadharan, Dr.K.K.Mohandas, Dr. Mustaq Ali and Dr. Fazal Mohammed were also attended.
Mr. K.M. Noordeen Chairman Alpha Pain Clinic explained the various aspects of the activities of the Alpha Pain Clinic.

Care & Share Humanitarian Award 2007





Humanitarian of the Year Award presented - The 2007 Care & Share Humanitarian Award for the best social worker was presented to Mr. K. M. Noordeen by retired Supreme Court Justice Ms.Fathima Beevi at Sahitya Academy Hall in Thrissur, Kerala State, India. Mr. Noordeen is the founder and chairman of Alpha Pain Clinic in Edamuttam, Thrissur which began in 2005, providing homecare to bed-ridden patients as well as those with incurable diseases. In 2006, it expanded its operations to include day care and in-patient facilities. In a short span of 30 months, the Alpha Pain Clinic has registered about 1000 patients, out of which 400 are currently availing of its services. Alpha Pain Clinic today is one of the largest home-based palliative care providers in India.

K C Varghese Memorial Award-Doha Qatar



Alpha Pain Clinic recieved yet another award- the prestigious K.C.Varghese Memorial Award for the best social worker in the gulf region. In the ceremony held at Doha His Exellency the Qatar Indian Ambassador Dr. George Joseph was the chief guest. The award was presented to the chairman by Mr.G.Karthikeyan,former Minister - Kerala State, India.

Alpha International Seminar
The seminar was conducted on 03, 04 May 2008 at Lulu Convention Centre, Thrisur, Kerala State, India. 12 Faculty Members, 37 doctors, 137 nurses and 118 volunteer delegates attended the seminar. Though there were no foreign delegates, the seminar was generally evaluated as a success.

Thanks to Dr. M.R.Rajagopal for his Key-note Address and the class on Quality and to Dr. V.P.Gangadharan for presenting the reports on the first-ever comprehensive palliative care survey. Thanks to directors Dr. Mustaq Ali, Dr. Fazal Mohamed and Dr. K.K.Mohandas for their valuable participation and assistance. Special thanks to Dr. Sukdev Nayak, President, Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPC), Dr. Firoza Patel, former president of IAPC, Dr. Dinesh Goswami, former secretary of IAPC, Prof. Ambarish of Kasturbah Medical College and all others who held various sessions and took part in the deliberations. Special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and volunteers who took an active part in the seminar, especially those who travelled from other States of India.
