ORGANISATION

Alpha Pain Clinic is a unit of Alpha Charitable Trust. It has a Board of Patrons and a Board of Directors comprising six eminent doctors. The operation is headed by the Chairman.

Medical Division

The major activity of the medical division is Homecare. A medical team comprising specially trained doctors and nurses visit patients in their homes to bring down the physical discomforts experienced so that the patients can continue to live in their own homes. Three medical teams sets out for home care on six days a week. Homecare on Sundays is need-based. Alpha Pain Clinic has a 12-bed palliative care hospital which is open for admission round the clock on all days. Alpha Hospice has four rooms where patients needing Long Term Care (LTC) are housed. The medical division has 44 staff members based in Edamuttam, Thrissur and six staff members in Palakkad Clinic.

Community Division

The Community Division is headed by Chief Programme Coordinator and assisted by the Public Relations Officer, Volunteers Coordinator, Patient Coordinator and about 150 active volunteers The Community Division is responsible for all the non-medical problems faced by the patient, such as economic, psycho-social and spiritual. The economic issues involve problems related to livelihood, employment, housing, education of the children, etc. Organizing awareness classes, training classes for volunteers, government and public relation are also within the scope of Community Division.

Alpha Chapters

Volunteers organise Chapters at various locations in and outside India. The Chapters in India ensure community participation by way of group discussions and organising rehabilitation projects. The Chapters outside India act as a support group arranging assistance to various projects undertaken by Alpha Pain Clinic and organizing awareness classes.
